Tributes paid to father-of-six who was drowned in a canal in Warrington

THE brother of an angler who was allegedly pushed into a canal and drowned spoke of his family’s devastation.

Father of-six Harry Morris died on Saturday morning after he was allegedly pushed into a canal at Sankey Valley Park, in Warrington.

Yesterday, his younger brother Louis, 55, said the family was left in complete shock.

Mr Morris was on holiday in Scarborough at the time of his brother’s death and rushed over.

He said: “We’re just stunned by it. It’s my brother and I’m upset because I wasn’t there. I wish I could’ve helped him.”

Harry was taking part in a fishing competition run by Dallam and District Community Angling Club when the attack happened on Saturday.

ANTHONY OGBURNE, 40, of Winmarleigh Street, Warrington, was charged with Mr Morris’s murder.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court.
