A LIVERPOOL gym has closed its doors after it claimed long-term roadworks put off customers.
Total Fitness, on Edge Lane, closed yesterday as a result of falling membership numbers, leaving it no longer financially viable to run.
A spokesperson for Total Fitness said: “We pursued numerous avenues to create membership numbers at Edge Lane against a backdrop of rundown properties and demolition works.
“Unfortunately, none of these efforts were successful.”
Among those caught out by the sudden closure was member Ben Inglesby, 20, from Old Swan.
He said: “There were bouncers at the door and we were told the big bosses had gone in and shut the place down. Even the staff hadn’t been told anything.”
