SIX people arrested in connection with a bank robbery were still being questioned by detectives last night.
The four men and two women were taken into custody by police after a two hour armed siege at around 4pm on Monday afternoon. Neighbours on Cherry Lane, Walton, were left stunned when their quiet road became the scene of a dramatic stand-off.
Hours earlier, a security guard carrying cash to stock an ATM machine was knifed in the arm outside Lloyds TSB in Cherryfield Lane, Kirkby.
Two 18-year-old men and a 20-year-old were arrested on suspicion of robbery, a man, 54, and a woman, 36, were arrested for conspiracy to rob and a 24-year-old woman was arrested for assisting an offender.
