FORTY thousand ducks took to the water on a stretch of the Leeds-Liverpool canal in a charity race.
The second annual Liverpool duck race raised around £40,000 for Claire House hospice on Saturday. The plastic ducks were sold by 120 fundraisers, sponsored to take part in a 1,000ft zip wire challenge from a crane at the Pier Head.
Radio DJ Pete Price and actress Suzanne Collins joined in the challenge, while the event was sponsored by Merseyside Fire Service, Radio City’s Cash For Kids and the Irwin Mitchell law firm.
