Ken Dodd helps celebrate Knotty Ash church’s landmark date
KEN Dodd dropped into his local church to help celebrate 175 years since its consecration.
The Squire of Knotty Ash began the festivities at St John The Evangelist Church, in Thomas Lane, on Saturday and stayed chatting to fans for hours.
The Reverend Roy Doran said: “He was absolutely scrumptious. He stayed for two and a half hours chatting to people.
“There were hundreds of people there, many of them not usually part of our congregation. Doddy can still draw a crowd.”
