Martin Scorsese’s film on George Harrison to be screened later this year

DIRECTOR Martin Scorsese’s film profile of former Beatles star George Harrison is to be screened by the BBC later this year.

The film-maker has examined the life of the late music legend through archive footage and interviews with figures such as Sir Paul McCartney and Eric Clapton for the film Living In The Material World.

His film will be screened by BBC2 in November to coincide with the 10th anniversary of Harrison’s death.

Scorsese, whose film documentaries include Rolling Stones film Shine A Light, co-produced the new movie with Harrison’s widow, Olivia.

Much of the footage from the film is said to have never been seen before. Living In The Material World is also being released on DVD on October 10.
