West End show Dirty Dancing announced for Liverpool
THE stars of West End hit Dirty Dancing were in Liverpool yesterday to give a taste of their UK tour.
The ever-popular tale of first love and raunchy moves, based on the 1980s Patrick Swayze movie, has been breaking box office records since it opened in London, in 2006.
The show has already played to more than 1m people, and set the record as the fastest selling in West End history.
And next year the hit musical will be performed at the Liverpool Empire. To celebrate, the tour dancers Charlotte Gooch, who plays Penny, and James Leech, who plays leading man Johnny Castle, gave a select audience a sneak preview of their jaw-dropping dance moves.
DIRTY Dancing will be at the Empire from October 9 to 27, 2012.
