TENS of thousands of people crowded into the Pier Head over the weekend to watch a 3D sound and light show.

The dramatic digital projection celebrated the Liver Building’s 100th anniversary and the opening of the Museum of Liverpool.

A lantern display and free concerts featuring Connie Lush, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and 6ix Toys entertained crowds on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday night respectively. Many visitors took advantage of late opening hours to explore the new museum before watching the waterfront spectacular.

Using the Liver Building as a canvas the 3D show chronicled 800 years of Liverpool’s history and then made the museum building pulsate to music.
