A MAN was freed by fire crews after becoming impaled on a metal bar.
The 25-year old’s leg was pierced by the bar, which was protruding from the ground at Rainford golf club, Mill Lane.
Crews, who were called out at 8pm yesterday, used cutting equipment to remove the steel bar.
The man was taken to Whiston hospital by paramedics with severe injuries to his lower right leg.
