A MAN arrested on suspicion of theft of war memorial plaques has been bailed by police.
The theft was discovered on Saturday at the memorial in the grounds of Christ Church, in Willaston, near Neston.
A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: “The 39-year-old man from Little Neston was interviewed by police and, following advice from the Crown Prosecution Service, granted bail for one week pending further investigation.”
The theft shocked residents and Christ Church’s Rev Raymond Dent said he was disgusted by it.
