Families take part in Magritte activities at Tate Liverpool

FAMILIES were given the chance to become part of the surreal surroundings at Tate Liverpool this week.

Children hid behind giant bowler hats, apples and clouds in the Living Wallpaper event, part of the gallery’s “month of Magritte” family activities. The free weekly themed events, which run from Wednesday to Sunday throughout this month, are inspired by the René Magritte: The Pleasure Principle exhibition, which brings together more than 100 paintings by the Belgian Surrealist. The exhibition, which runs until October 16, also includes little-known photographs, home movies and commercial art.

The family events take place in the gallery’s first floor education studio. For more information, visit www.tate.org.uk/liverpool
