THIS year’s Liverpool Irish Festival will be the biggest and best yet, organisers said last night.
The annual event includes a packed programme of music, film, drama, heritage, literature and lectures from October 14-30.
Highlights will be a weekend of free activities at Albert Dock, the second Irish Sea Sessions at the Philharmonic Hall, a week of early evening Irish film at FACT, a season of Samuel Beckett at The Unity Theatre, and the Damien Dempsey Band and Amsterdam performing at the O2 Academy.
Singer-songwriter Damien said: “Last year was a beautiful night by the Mersey – the Scousers sang all night and this year will be even better.”
There will also be a Sunday afternoon and evening of music at the Sefton Park Palm House. Visit www.liverpoolirishfestival.com
