Knife raid at Thomson travel agents

THREE women were tied up during a terrifying knife raid at a city centre travel agents.

The armed robbery took place yesterday morning at around 9.30am, when two men wearing balaclavas walked into Thomson travel agents on Lord Street. The women, who were not injured during the robbery, managed to untie themselves and raise the alarm after the men fled with a “substantial amount of money” from the safe.

A police spokesman said the Thomson employees were left “very distressed” by their ordeal.

One of the men is described as wearing a high-visibility jacket, grey combat trousers and grey and black Air Max trainers. The second man is described only as wearing black.
