Everton FC help Wavertree student who snubbed A-levels net dream Dubai coaching job
A LIVERPOOL student is to jet off to Dubai after netting her dream job as a football coach after completing an A-level alternative with Everton FC.
Jessica McNally, 18, from Wavertree is among 14 students who snubbed the traditional qualification and have become the first to complete a BTEC National Diploma in Sport run by the club’s charity Everton In The Community (EITC).
The two year course covers a range of different subjects including physiology, sociology, nutrition and performance analysis.
The students also take part in coaching sessions and enter a team into the Liverpool Colleges’ League.
And for Jessica it has led to her a dream job – from the end of month she will coach pupils with International Football Academy in Dubai.
She said: “I cannot wait to start.”
Everton’s midfield star and EITC ambassador Tim Cahill said: “If we can use football as a tool for encouraging youngsters to knuckle down and improve themselves by getting a better education then that’s terrific.”
