LAUGHTER fans are in for a treat this autumn when the inaugural Southport Comedy Festival gets underway.
Formally Southport Comedy Week, organiser and experienced comedian Brendan Riley decided to resurrect the event after funding for this year’s Sefton Council-run comedy week was cut.
Pulling together contacts from the comedy circuit and local businesses, Brendan has put together a varied and exciting calendar of events.
The 10-day festival will see 16 shows play out at seven venues around the resort.
Running from Thursday, October 20, to Sunday, October 30, comedy heavyweights including Sarah Millican and Ed Byrne will be among those heading to town.
