A LIVERPOOL student who died after chasing a suspected thief had dreamed of becoming a teacher.
Yesterday, David Mark Schofield’s heartbroken family paid tribute to their “heart and soul of any party”.
The 21-year-old Liverpool John Moores University sociology student was killed when he was hit by a bus in Manchester while chasing a man believed to have snatched his mobile.
David, from Hyde, suffered serious head injuries.
His family said it was “ his dream to be a school teacher” and he had successfully completed the first year of his degree course at John Moores.
In a statement, they said: "David was part of a large loving family.
"He will be missed deeply by all family and his large network of close friends.”
Yesterday, shocked staff at Liverpool John Moores University spoke of their “deep sadness”.
Dr Joe Yates, the director of LJMU’s school of humanities and social science, described David as a “valued member of our academic community”.
POLICE in Manchester arrested and bailed a 19-year-old man on suspicion of theft.
