Couple tie the knot in Liverpool after whirlwind romance on board the QM2

A WHIRLWIND romance on board the flagship Queen Mary 2 (QM2) culminated in a couple tying the knot at Liverpool’s registry office.

Janet Coulthurst, from Allerton, first met husband-to-be John Labelle, from Montreal, Canada, when she was a passenger and he an entertainer on a cruise earlier this year.

Within a couple of weeks they were engaged and they got married during the QM2’s brief stopover in the city yesterday.

John, 44, works as a singer in the ocean liner’s main ballroom, the Queens Room.

Janet, 39, said: “We got engaged as we were heading towards Cape Town. It was a whirlwind romance, but when you know, you know.”
