HOPE STREET will come alive on Sunday with live performances and a market linking Liverpool’s two cathedrals.
Aimed at all the family, the annual Hope Street Feast features music, dance, theatre, art and food.
As well as music stages on Myrtle Street and Mount Street there will be walkabout performances by Hope Street Ltd’s Free Radical Follies.
Members of the public will be invited to join the company of 30 actors and musicians in events including Manifestoville, which allows people to start their own campaign by writing down their views on a placard.
Local group The Bannd will perform every half hour from the balcony of the Philharmonic Pub.
Peter Ward, of Hope Street Ltd, said: “This event is very family-orientated and suitable for any ages. We are lucky to have two directors from Cocoloco, based in London – Trevor Stewart and Helen Statman who have performed all over Europe.”
Ward added: “We want to take the theme of Liverpool as a radical city whilst taking a comical look.”
This is the fourth year that the company will have provided the entertainment during the Hope Street Feast, which runs from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
Activities are also being held at Liverpool Philharmonic, Unity Theatre, Blackburne House, the former Irish Centre on Mount Pleasant, Merseyside Dance Initiative, Hope Street Hotel, the Masonic Hall, the Caledonia pub, and both cathedrals.
