TWO Liverpool-based law firms are celebrating after they improved their rankings in the Legal 500 UK – known as the legal “bible”.
Hill Dickinson, which has its headquarters in Liverpool, was described as a “formidable force” while Shipley IP also achieved recognition, despite being a relatively new company.
Shipley IP managing director Mark Shipley said: “It is fairly unusual for a six-year-old company to be listed among long-established, national firms.
“We are pleased to be recognised for doing things differently.”
Hill Dickinson has expanded its team after the acquisition of Halliwells’ Liverpool office.
Managing partner Peter Jackson said the 2010 deal had “great significance.”
Researchers speak to thousands of law firm commercial clients every year to compile the Legal 500 list. The recommendations are based largely on what they say and on the opinions of thousands of rival commercial lawyers.
