Merseyside stars nominated for National Television Awards

COMEDIAN Lee Mack led the way for Merseyside with three nominations at the National Television Awards.

The Southport-born funnyman was nominated in the categories of Entertainment Programme for Lee Mack’s All Star Cast, Situation Comedy for Not Going Out and Entertainment Presenter.

He goes head-to-head with Birkenhead-born Paul O’Grady and John Bishop, from Runcorn, who are also up for the coveted Entertainment Presenter award.

O’Grady’s show, Paul O’Grady Live, is in the Talk Show nominations.

Childwall-born Jason Isaacs and David Morrissey, from Kensington, will battle in the Male Drama Performance category, while Formby-born Lesley Sharp is up for Female Drama Performance for Scott and Bailey.

Hollyoaks will compete for the Serial Drama award, with actress Stephanie Davies, from Prescot, up for Serial Drama Performance.
