LIVERPOOL’S maternity hospital has stopped giving out free formula milk to encourage breastfeeding.
Liverpool Women’s Hospital used to provide milk for women who decided to bottle-feed newborns.
But from now on, mothers will have to buy formula if they want to use it.
Women who are having “real problems” with breastfeeding will be given milk, as will those who are not producing enough.
The hospital said it had informed women in ante-natal clinics for months milk would not be automatically available.Š
