THE Bishop of Liverpool will return to work next week after undergoing heart surgery in June.
The Rt Rev James Jones will go back to work on a phased basis on Monday, October 3, after his recent coronary artery bypass.
As well as his duties as bishop, this will include resuming work as chair of the Hillsborough Panel and the Forestry Review.
Bishop James said: “Myself and my wife, Sarah, are so grateful for the love and the prayers which have surrounded us during the last few months.
“I will be making a phased return to work in October and look forward to thanking the Diocese personally for all their kindness.” During his absence, the Bishop of Warrington – Bishop Richard Blackburn – has been serving as the Acting Bishop of Liverpool.
