A FAREWELL service will be held for the Dean of Liverpool before he departs to take up a new post.
The service at the Anglican Cathedral will be a Holy Communion service where the Very Rev Justin Welby will preach his final sermon.
It will mark his time in Liverpool and pray for his future ministry in one of the country’s oldest dioceses, Durham, where he is going to be Bishop.
Dr Welby said: “It will be a service of incredibly mixed emotions for me and the family. We were greatly blessed during our time in Liverpool and learned a great amount from living and working in this region.
“We take with us some wonderful memories of the people we have met and services and events we have attended.”
The farewell service will be held at 10.30am on Sunday, October 2.
