A PREGNANT woman was injured in a four-vehicle road crash in Liverpool, after an elderly man blacked out at the wheel.
The man’s car veered over the grass verge at the junction of Green Lane and Allerton Road at around 3.30pm yesterday.
He hit a silver Kia car, which was being driven by the pregnant woman, before crashing into a bin wagon.
The pregnant woman, who also had a young boy in the car with her, veered into a silver parked Mercedes.
Barbara Joyce, the owner of the Mercedes, who is due to move into a business premises on Green Lane, said: “I just heard a crash and a bang. It was chaos.
“The woman was in hysterics. She was screaming out that she was pregnant.
“Thankfully nobody was killed.”
Police said the elderly man, believed to be in his eighties, had a medical episode and blacked out at wheel.
