PARTS of Edge Lane will be closed overnight for a week as workers get the final phase of road improvements under way.
The first of the overnight closures starts on Monday, October 10, between Innovation Boulevard and Durning Road, inbound to the city centre, and will last for seven nights, until Sunday, October 16.
The closure will take place from 7pm each evening until 6am.
Diversions will be via Innovation Boulevard and Wavertree Road.
Durning Road and Holt Road will also be closed at their junction with Edge Lane over the nights of October 15 and 16, again between 7pm and 6am.
Surfacing work is also taking place at Jubilee Road, meaning it will be closed at its junction with Edge Lane from 7am on Saturday, October 8, until 6pm on Sunday, October 9.
The works, which began in August, are likely to last until the spring with further closures to come.
Cllr Malcolm Kennedy said: “These vital works will bring about huge improvements to Edge Lane and will benefit motorists for many years to come.”
