THE Liverpool Irish Festival launched last night with a selection of music and theatre at the Rodewald Suite.
The festival, which celebrates links between Liverpool and Ireland, runs until October 30.
Festival chairman John Chandler said: “We’re nine years young and still growing. The Liverpool Irish Festival is two weeks of creative craic – extraordinary events in extraordinary places, from the Albert Dock to the Sefton Park Palm House.
“It’ll be a sensational mix of excitement, adventure and sense of occasion that combines to make the festival experience.”
Music programme curator Simon Glinn added: “It’s about to be a sensational fortnight of Liverpool Irish music.”
