Strictly star Edwina Currie returns hospital equipment to Liverpool’s Royal

EDWINA CURRIE visited the Royal Liverpool hospital to return the Zimmer frame and crutches she was given after suffering a broken ankle.

And, while she was there, she took the opportunity to show how her stint on TV’s Strictly Come Dancing has helped her back to full fitness.

The former MP, 65, was treated at the Royal for a broken ankle before the series.

She said: “Six months ago, I could barely walk, and now I feel fit. I am running up the stairs to the gym on my toes.

“I broke my ankle in January and I thought if I can do Strictly, then it might encourage other older people to start dancing.

“I promised to return the Zimmer frame to Fiona Daglish, the senior physiotherapist who looked after me.”
