THE joint funeral of a Merseyside couple who died in flash flooding in Spain will take place next week after their bodies arrived back in the UK yesterday.
Pensioners Mary and Ken Hall, from Bootle, lost their lives during a 25-minute torrential storm at their holiday resort near Benidorm last Friday.
The plane carrying the couple’s bodies arrived at Manchester airport on Wednesday and they were brought back to the city yesterday.
Their funeral will take place at St James’ Church, Bootle, and the service is likely to be a requiem mass.
Lorraine Ward, a family spokesman, said: “We have to go through the same process with the reports here as we did in Spain.
“It has to be signed off by the coroner so the funeral will not be until next week.”
