Liverpool's own “Strictly Come Dancing”-style awards won by Tracy Griffiths

LIVERPOOL’S own “Strictly Come Dancing”-style awards saw figures from the worlds of politics, sport and business take part in a charity competition.

The winner was “Samba queen” Tracy Griffiths, who with dance partner Linus Backstrom, took the coveted Clatterbridge Cancer Research Come Dancing trophy.

Tracey, host and manager of Business Network Chester, received her award from former Strictly competitor John Barnes.

Judith Greensmith, Chair of The Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Trustee for Clatterbridge Cancer Research, was runner up.

Yvonne Dunn, principal choreographer at Headliners Dance School, said: “What people forget is the enormity of what these people have to achieve.”

Hosted by the BBC’s Roger Phillips and broadcaster Michelle Eagleton the judges on the night were LIPA Chief Executive Mark Featherstone-Witty, Trinity Mirror’s Jane Clare and Yvonne Dunn.
