Records retrieved from West Kirby GP surgery at centre of eviction row

MEDICAL records from a GP surgery evicted from its Wirral premises have been retrieved.

Wirral Primary Care Trust staff arrived at The Medical Centre, in Banks Road, West Kirby, with police in attendance after agreeing with the landlord to enter the building and obtain their property.

However Wayne Roberts who owns the building said he was surprised at the “heavy-handed” approach saying his solicitor agreed with the PCT they would be able to enter and retrieve the records.

The PCT said they and practice staff “have worked tirelessly” to ensure new premises at 56-60 Grange Road, West Kirby, were fully operational by today.

NHS Wirral’s Deputy Director of Primary Care Glenn Coleman said records would be safely transferred to the new building.
