TRAINEES from law firm Hill Dickinson were presented with a certificate by Wirral Hospice St John’s in recognition of their Three Peaks Challenge fundraising efforts for the charity.
A presentation evening was held at the law firm’s head office in Liverpool where the nine trainees, along with a 10th member of the Challenge team from outside the firm, were given a certificate of thanks for raising almost £6,000 for Wirral Hospice St John's.
The trainees finished the Three Peaks climb in just less than 24 hours. They successfully completed 25 miles of walking, 10,000 ft of vertical climbing and 500 miles travelling during the challenge.
David Keenan, a member of the team said: “Wirral Hospice St John’s cared for my father before he sadly passed away late last year. They do a fantastic job in caring for terminally ill patients and I am so pleased we raised £5,700 for them.”
Hayley Dykes, fundraising officer from Wirral Hospice St John’s said: “The patients and staff would like to express their grateful thanks to Hill Dickinson for raising £5,667 by completing the Three Peaks Challenge. Congratulations to all involved in helping to make the challenge such a success. To enable our Hospice to provide the very special care given to all our patients we need to raise over £2m this financial year from voluntary sources. The interest of the local community is therefore vital.”
