Memorial to Cllr Rose Bailey at a Liverpool church

A MEMORIAL to late Liverpool councillor Rose Bailey was unveiled in the heart of the Croxteth ward she represented for more than a decade.

The fountain and memorial plaque were installed at St Paul’s Church in Croxteth at a special ceremony and service attended by family, friends and council colleagues of the former deputy Lord Mayor.

The service was delivered by Rev Ian Brooks.

The plaque pays tribute to the “tireless champion and devoted friend of the people of Croxteth” who died of a heart attack, aged 61, while visiting relatives in Germany in 2010.

Her husband John, 67, said: “She would have been proud and I think she would have really liked it.”
