FORMER naval captain turned solicitor Captain Ibrahim Nadim last night spoke of his agony at being falsely accused of making sexist remarks to two former employees.
Captain Ibrahim Nadim, a former British Merchant mariner, was yesterday cleared by a tribunal of making comments about two female staff at his Birkenhead-based legal practice, Nadim Associates.
In a damning verdict, employment tribunal chairman Vincent Ryan dismissed lawyer Kate Welch’s claim of sexual harassment as “opportunistic”.
And he said lewd comments purportedly said of former conveyancing solicitor Jenny Conroy “did not take place”.
After being cleared of wrongdoing, Capt Nadim said he was now considering taking the matter to police.
Supported by his wife Pauline, Capt Nadim said: “This has been an enormous stress on both our lives. It shows that employers should not give in to malicious accusations.
“We have got the result that we expected, but it is a shame we have had to go through this.
“We have had so much support from law firms in Liverpool and we are very thankful for that.”
Capt Nadim was alleged to have told Mrs Welch after she had been injured in car crash: “You have all the traits of a blonde.”
