LIVERPOOL’S festive Santa Dash is hoping to beat last year’s record 7,500 entries.
The city is poised to keep a firm grip on the record it holds after defeating Las Vegas last year.
Liverpool city centre will be transformed into a massive, moving sea of red next Sunday.
Organisers Runliverpool launched the ‘BACK THE DASH’ campaign with support from Olympic athlete Beth Tweddle, boxer David Price, and St Helens Rugby captain Paul Wellens.
They joined Liverpool FC legends Phil Thompson, Alan Kennedy and former manager Roy Evans, Everton Legends and a host of Liverpool personalities including Big Brother’s Craig Phillips, actresses Suzanne Collins – clutching the trophy – and Pauline Daniels, Peter Hooton from The Farm and Walton MP Steve Rotherham who are all backing the event.
The Liverpool Santa Dash is supporting the Daily Post-backed Liverpool Unites charity and Radio City’s Cash For Kids this year.
