LODGER Barry Morrow was last night being questioned in connection with the murder of his landlady and her mother.
A five-day search ended yesterday when the 51-year-old was arrested on suspicion of the double killing.
The bodies of Angela Holgate, 54, and Alice Huyton, 75, were found in the younger woman’s house on Fairhaven Road, Southport.
They had been suffocated and were discovered by Mrs Huyton’s son-in-law, Colin Hyde, when he visited the house last Saturday.
Yesterday, police arrested Morrow in the UK and took him to a police station on Merseyside where he was being questioned last night.
It is understood his lawyer, Keith Rennison, was involved in the process.
The Burnley solicitor had been contacted by Morrow while he was absent.
It is thought the lawyer acted as a “go-between”.
