LIVERPOOL’S Bluecoat Arts Centre has appointed a new chief executive.
Mary Cloake, previously director of Arts Council Ireland, will take up the post in late February next year.
Ms Cloake will lead the Bluecoat through the next phase in its development.
The 300th anniversary of the Bluecoat in 2017 will offer a huge opportunity for the organisation to celebrate its history and reinforce understanding of its importance as an arts centre which is central to Liverpool and a model for others.

Ms Cloake said: “The Bluecoat is a dynamic creative hub at the heart of Liverpool, with not only a fascinating history but an exciting and diverse artistic programme.
“I am very excited to be joining and look forward to working with the board and staff to help make the next 300 years as successful as the past.”
Born in Cardiff, Ms Cloake is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and Dublin City University.
