LIVERPOOL’S new glamorous club PlayGround launched with a VIP party at the Hilton Liverpool hotel.

No expense was spared on the £2m superclub, with VIPs treated to a huge £48,000 bottle of champagne.

Guests included Jennifer Ellison, Rebecca Ferguson and Coleen Rooney.

Entertainment included a routine from Liverpool-based MD Productions and Grand Master Ash on percussion. Rebecca Ferguson delighted clubbers when she took a turn on the drums.

There were circus acts and a saxophone player as well as the PlayGround dancers.

Liverpool fashion designer Kirsty Doyle designed the staff uniforms, Justine Mills from Cricket is running the membership scheme, and WAG Alex Gerrard designed the membership cards.

PlayGround founder George Panayiotou said: “I am absolutely delighted all of the hard work in realising this dream has paid off.

“It has been a lot of hard work in the classroom, and now it is time to get into the PlayGround.”
