A FIVE-hour siege ended with police forcing their way into a house – only to find it empty.
Officers are now trying to trace a man they believed was inside the house at The Meadows, in Woodchurch.
Armed police were called to the scene around 4.20pm on Wednesday following a domestic disturbance.
Neighbours reported that a woman fled her home with her two children, aged one and four, claiming they were threatened with a knife.
A police spokesman said: “When officers entered they found the house empty. Inquiries are ongoing to trace the man.”
