NUMEROUS Merseyside restaurants were acknowledged in this year’s guide.
Michelin stars are awarded annually and the guide hands one to three stars to a small number of restaurants of outstanding quality.
This year Fraiche, in Oxton, retained its star for the fourth year in a row, one of only a handful in the North West to do so.
Outside the star system, other restaurants were also singled out for praise.
Spire, in Wavertree; The Swan Inn, in Aughton; Bistrot Verite, in Birkdale; and city centre restaurants Maritime Dining Rooms, at the Merseyside Maritime Museum, the London Carriageworks, Racquet Club, Hard Day’s Night, Panoramic, Host and 60 Hope Street were all highlighted.
Da Piero, in Irby, had its third mention. There were new listings for the Hilton, in Liverpool; the Vincent, in Southport; and the Liverpool Malmaison. The Richard Fox, at the Leverhulme Hotel, Port Sunlight, was also praised.
