Mother of murdered teenager Anthony Walker among those honoured by University of Liverpool

THE mother of murdered student Anthony Walker is to receive an honorary degree from the University of Liverpool during the graduations at the Philharmonic Hall next week.

Race awareness campaigner Gee Walker’s son Anthony, 18, had hopes of studying law at a top university before he was brutally murdered close to his Huyton home in 2005.

Others to be honoured include ITN science editor and University of Liverpool graduate, Lawrence McGinty; Professor Sir Ian Gilmore, an honorary consultant physician at the Royal Liverpool Hospital; Sir Michael Bibby, managing director of Bibby Line Group Limited and, director of Mersey Maritime and Typhoon Holdings.
