A DEPUTY headteacher’s career is in tatters after he admitted a string of child porn offences.
Rob Hughes, 56, of Mount Road, Wallasey, had worked at Moreton secondary Wallasey School for 17 years.
But he was banned from working with children after pleading guilty to 13 counts of making indecent photographs and computer- generated “pseudo” images of children.
He was handed an eight-month prison sentenced, suspended for two years, with a two- year supervision order.
Today, his former employers stressed Hughes had been sacked and none of the images in his possession related to pupils at the school.
Head-teacher Phil Duffy said the safety of pupils was paramount and Ofsted ranked its safeguarding as outstanding.
He said “no offence took place involving the school or its students” and school computer equipment had been returned by the police and “contained no inappropriate materials.”
Hughes has been placed on the Sex Offenders Registers for 10 years and banned from working with children.
