DAVID GEST has pulled out of his role as Monster in the Royal Court’s Christmas show A Nightmare on Lime Street due to ill health.
Severe viral gastroenteritis has so far prevented the US music promoter from appearing in the show, but the permanent cancellation is due to a tumour in his neck. Gest will fly to Memphis for an operation next week and is expected to have made a full recovery by mid-January, in time for his Soul Spectacular Tour of the UK.
Royal Court chief executive Kevin Fearon said: “We are all very disappointed to lose David from the show but we agreed that his health must come first.” A Nightmare on Lime Street runs until January 12.
