THE writer behind the London Olympics opening ceremony and the developer who oversaw the creation of Liverpool One will receive honorary degrees.
Author Frank Cottrell- Boyce, of Blundellsands, has written for Coronation Street and Brookside as well as Hollywood films such as the Oscar- nominated Hilary And Jackie.
The £1bn Liverpool One project, which was led by Rod Holmes, has scooped numerous national and international rewards.
Both will be honoured in Liverpool University graduation ceremonies at the Philharmonic Hall this week.
