The prosecution’s allegations of murder and gang rivalry span a 35-page document along with endless maps, charts and records.
In court, animation technology was used to illustrate Croxteth Park’s geography in relation to the accused’s alleged movements on the fateful night of Rhys’s death.
CCTV images were also shown, including the shocking moment when Rhys was hit by the fatal bullet – causing the jury to gasp. Rhys’s mother, Melanie, had already run out in tears.
The jury was also issued with documents to help them decipher the complex case.
The Honourable Mr Justice Irwin warned the jury not to consult the internet or newspapers for information on the trial, which he said could prejudice their views.
