Cheap theatre tickets are available all over the country. If you’re buying tickets at full price you could be missing out.
There’s nothing like cheap theatre tickets to put a smile on your face. Television dramas are great, but the stage can bring a drama to life, creating characters that you’ll remember for a lifetime. Who could forget a live performance of their favourite play, pantomime, or the songs from a hit musical?
As a multi-dimensional experience, a live stage performance is hard to beat and you can really get involved in the action. The actors’ thoughts and feelings are clearly visible on their faces for the whole of the play, while they are on stage, whereas on the small screen they can be out of view for much of the action.
Audience participation is also a strong point in many theatre productions. A theatre visit is often more exciting and more immediate than the cinema. You can sometimes participate in a show’s ‘in jokes’, be given things to throw at the actors when given a signal, or even shout out help to characters in pantomimes.
A play also offers the opportunity to get to know the actors in front of you on the stage. Cheap theatre tickets can offer you access to a host of new personalities and seasoned performers who have perfected their craft over years and who are more representative of society today than many television performers.
Live theatre also offers lots of opportunities for unpredictable and memorable events. Stage sets are apt to wobble and actors can forget their lines or forget their cues to appear. It’s always a delight to spot the relief on the face of a character who’s struggling to remember their lines when the missing piece finally clicks.
Cheap theatre tickets also offer the possibility of a solo treat. I have a friend who likes nothing more than to disappear off to the theatre to see a new play he’s heard about. He enjoys it so much that he goes alone so that he doesn’t have to explain what’s going on to anyone. He can just sit back and enjoy the show.
In fact there seems to be a certain cultural cachet about theatre going. It implies that you are well bred and have a certain amount of class that a trip to the cinema generally won’t infer. You can discuss a play you watched with others in the know and go up in their estimation as they see that you like cultural things and are therefore one of them.
Of course, there are lots of other things to spend your money on, such as a meal in an expensive restaurant, an outing to the cinema, a new dress or a pair of shoes. However, cheap theatre tickets offer a chance to create a memory you’ll have for the future that you share with whoever you take with you.
Cheap theatre tickets are readily available and allow those in the know to pick up an entertaining bargain that won’t break the bank.
