A stray cow is being held responsible for causing traffic accidents that resulted in the death of at least six people in Cambodia this year, a police official said.
Its owner may face a six-month jail term under a new traffic law for letting his cow roam freely on busy roads, said Pin Doman, a police chief on the outskirts of Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh.
He said 66-year-old Veng Hok, a Cambodian motorist, died instantly when his motorcycle hit the cow on a street. The man was driving his motorcycle home at night when he suddenly bumped into the white, 5 feet tall cow standing in the middle of the road.
