Police in South Africa stopped a Fiat Uno and found the driver had crammed in two cows and two goats as passengers.

The car, barely large enough for four adults, was impounded by police in rural northern KwaZulu-Natal after a tip off by residents.

The driver tried to outrun the police but couldn't go fast enough and fled into nearby bushes.

The animals were handed over to a stock theft unit and police were investigating.
