Trouser suit

An American judge who tried to sue a cleaner for £27 million over a pair of missing trousers has lost his job.

The District of Columbia’s justice panel decided not to reappoint Roy Pearson when his period in office ran out.

His lawsuit claimed that the cleaners did not live up to his expectations of "Satisfaction Guaranteed", as advertised in their windows and demanded repayment for the lost trousers, as well as damages for inconvenience, mental anguish and legal fees for representing himself.

It was dismissed.
