Satnav blunder

Office workers on a Christmas shopping trip to France were taken to the wrong country after a satellite navigation blunder diverted their coach seven hours off course.

Instead of arriving in the French city of Lille, 50 members of Cheltenham and Gloucester (C&G) sports and social club were diverted 98 miles away to a village, of the same name, across the border in Belgium.

After the driver realised his mistake and turned round, the group had just two hours to do their shopping before stores closed.
