Rainbow balls

Schools Secretary Ed Balls raised smiles in the House of Commons after he failed to name correctly the colours of the rainbow.

Giving evidence to MPs on the Children, Schools and Families Committee, Mr Balls tried to describe the cover of a departmental paper which carried a picture of a rainbow.

But MPs dissolved in laughter when he added: "Isn’t it red, yellow, pink and green, purple and orange and blue?"
